Sweetwaters was listed on the itinerary as a "tented camp." We weren't sure what to expect, but we needn't have worried about the accommodations or the game viewing.

They
looked simple from the outside. . .
but
they had full facilities and running water
and
a mahogany four-poster bed!
The
camp was right on a watering hole
Various
animal took advantage of that
Sacred
ibis were plentiful here and elsewhere
As
were the marabou stork
Sometimes our escort, Bill, just needed a rational conversation with someone | We
visited a sanctuary for abused chimps
Most
of them had been "pets" before they were rescued
Animals
were present in large numbers
Zebras
formed herds for protection
"What
are they looking at?" "Oh, just birds," said someone,
much to Pat's (and Bill's) distress
Of
course, some of us knew what was REALLY important!

The brilliance of the superb starling was everywhere |
