The Zoological Society also arranged for us to do a community service project with a school in Samburu. The Society provided corn and beans (the two dietary staples) to the school, and new metal bowls and spoons to replace the old plastic ones that the children had been using, while Park East provided the transportation costs. The gratitude of the teachers for these simple things made us all aware of how much we take for granted in our lives.
