Oslo

We arrived for a day's stay in Oslo and prepared to meet the rest of the 148-members passenger contingent that evening. With a little free time we strolled around before joining the group tour in the afternoon.

Our hotel was across from the National Theater. Next to the Theater was a curious dome-shaped fountain; we have no idea if it signified something special.

We walked by the University--this, of course, is the original Library. There was a pedestrian walkway that attracted all kinds of street vendors and theater--an Oslo Venice Beach. This guy was trying to persuade a young women to be part of his act.

I am sure that she regretted being persuaded when it turned out that he was a knife juggler.

We also visited Vigeland Sculpture Park.
The sculptures express many facets of human relations and feelings. This baby having a temper tantrum is probably the most famous statue there.

There were also warm portrayals of parents and children.

The fountain led into a somewhat different view of humanity.
