GAMES AT HACIENDA MARIPOSAS |
At the Hacienda Mariposas,
the owner arranged a pinata for our youngest travelers. Their
parents knew what was coming!
Xander got the first crack at it.
Then it was Ian's turn
After much effort, the pinata
finally gave way.
In the evening the hotel arranged
a demonstration of an ancient sport played with fire.
It was a kind of field hockey
with a ball made of burning rags and goals made of lamps.
It made quite a spectacle as the
players knocked the ball around
The firelight made interesting
patterns against the walls.
Then those who were brave enough
were invited to join in the game. Naturally Bill and Eric were
right there
Suzanne and Marsha were mere
blurs in the light as they chased the ball down and into the goal.
After several minutes of
back-and-forth play, the game was over (no winners or losers here)
And all the players took
well-deserved bows.
And then it was back to Morelia and so on to home, for the end of a great adventure
