| While in Fairbanks we took a cruise on the riverboat Discovery, which took us down the Chena River to visit sites representative of various cultures of Fairbanks. | |

| We also visited Susan Butcher's training camp for sled dogs. Butcher was the first women to win the Iditarod and had died only two weeks before our visit. | |
